Genocide death toll

The exact number of people who perished in the Cambodian genocide is not known. Estimates range from hundreds of thousands to two million. An academic article from the Beauty and Darkness: Cambodia website tries to address the estimates by age group, ethnicity, and total overall count. The consensus seems to be somewhere in the million+ region, with about half executed and half dying of starvation and disease. Another article from the same site talks about torture, killing, and grave-mapping, using recent DC-Cam findings. It also offers equally good records, but it's a little more accessible to readers.
